At the Autism and Neurodivergency Advocacy Association, we are dedicated to promoting acceptance, empowerment, and inclusion for neurodivergent individuals. Our organization was founded with a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by autistic individuals and the broader neurodivergent community.
We believe in the inherent value and potential of every neurodivergent individual. Our mission is to advocate for their rights, provide support, and foster a society that celebrates neurodiversity. By challenging misconceptions and stereotypes surrounding autism and other neurodivergent conditions, we strive to create a more inclusive and understanding world.
Through a range of programs and services, we aim to make a positive impact on the lives of neurodivergent individuals and their families. Our offerings include job coaching, college admissions consulting, peer autism support, a monthly support group, and a legislation tracker called CAAL. Additionally, we host an annual Neurodiversity Awareness Day to raise awareness and promote understanding in our community.
One of our key strengths is that our organization is led by individuals who are neurodivergent themselves. As an inclusive and representative organization, all of our volunteers and key members of the team are neurodivergent individuals. This unique aspect allows us to bring firsthand experiences, empathy, and a deep understanding of the needs of the community we serve.
We welcome individuals in the Tampa and NYC area to join us in our mission. Whether you want to become a subscriber (member), volunteer, attend our events, or provide financial support, there are numerous ways to get involved. Together, we can make a meaningful difference and create a society where neurodivergent individuals are fully accepted, supported, and celebrated for their unique abilities and perspectives.
Our mission is to promote the acceptance, empowerment, and inclusion of neurodivergent individuals while challenging societal misconceptions surrounding autism and other neurodivergent conditions.
We launched in 2021, and since then have hosted a variety of events for the neurodivergent community and families including our annual Neurodiversity Awareness Day, information sessions, monthly support groups, and a variety of other initiatives. We are located in the NYC and Tampa area, although we started out in Pennsylvania.
Our lovely volunteers are the heart and soul of the Autism and Neurodivergency Advocacy Association. Each and every one of them brings a unique perspective and a deep commitment to our mission. What sets our volunteers apart is that they are all neurodivergent individuals themselves, bringing firsthand experiences and an incredible level of empathy to their work. Their dedication and passion shine through as they contribute their skills and talents to various aspects of our organization, including community outreach, event planning, fundraising, and social media management. Their unwavering support and active involvement in our initiatives make a significant impact on the lives of neurodivergent individuals and the broader community. We are incredibly grateful for their valuable contributions and the positive energy they bring to our nonprofit. Our volunteers embody the spirit of collaboration, inclusivity, and empowerment, and they are an integral part of the Autism and ND Advocacy Association family.
At Autism and ND Advocacy Association, we wholeheartedly embrace the principles of neurodiversity and are committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse community. We believe that neurodiversity is a fundamental aspect of humanity, and we celebrate the unique strengths, perspectives, and contributions of individuals across the entire neurodivergent spectrum.
We recognize that neurodivergent individuals, including those on the autism spectrum, have diverse experiences and abilities. We affirm that all individuals, regardless of their neurocognitive differences, deserve equal respect, dignity, and opportunities. We strive to create a safe and welcoming space where everyone is valued, understood, and accepted for who they are.
Our commitment to diversity extends beyond the neurodivergent community. We embrace intersectionality and acknowledge the interconnectedness of various identities, including race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, socio-economic background, and more. We actively seek to amplify underrepresented voices and dismantle barriers that hinder equal access and participation.
By embracing diversity and fostering inclusivity, we enrich our organization, our programs, and the communities we serve. We believe that diverse perspectives, experiences, and ideas enhance our ability to effect meaningful change and create a more equitable society. Through collaborative efforts, we aspire to empower and uplift all individuals, promoting acceptance, understanding, and the celebration of neurodiversity in all its forms.
We hope to build a future where diversity is not only accepted but celebrated, where every neurodivergent individual can thrive, and where society embraces the beauty and strength that comes from our differences.
